Dear Esteemed Delegates and Guests, 

My name is Tiffany Kurniawan, and I am honored to serve as the Secretary-General for the Valley Regional Model United Nations (VRMUN) 2026, alongside my incredible team of 100+ Secretariat, Chairs, and General Staff. On behalf of the VRMUN team, I am delighted to welcome you to the 8th annual VRMUN conference at Granada Hills Charter High School. This year, we’ve worked meticulously to craft the most diverse and exciting set of committees yet for our delegates: six General Assembly Bodies and four Specialized and Crisis Bodies!

In 2018, our first ever VRMUN was initiated with the hope of providing a stimulating Model United Nations experience for middle and high school delegates across the San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles County. I first got involved with VRMUN 2022 as a freshman. My first foray into the inner workings of conferences deepened my passion for MUN. VRMUN is ultimately an exploration. For me, this meant getting involved with everything from crisis staff to chairing an environmental committee to managing everything financial to now serving as Secretary-General! There is a place for everyone from novices to seasoned delegates to challenge their skills in a lively and supportive environment created by our chairs. Most importantly, our Secretariat and Staff are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of diplomacy and creativity, both inside and outside of committees. I am confident that VRMUN will shatter your expectations, just as it has mine in the past 4 years. I can’t wait to see you debating the mental health impacts of climate change in UNDP, investigating child marriage as gendered violence in CSW, presenting your case on the First Amendment in US Senate, or navigating the chaos of Valorant in our Crisis committee, and making your mark in every session. Let’s make history together at VRMUN 2026!
