Meet our Board of Secretariat for VRMUN 2027!
Secretary-General
Dear Esteemed Delegates and Guests,
My name is Zachary Prasad, and I am unbelievably honored to serve as Secretary-General for the Valley Regional Model United Nations 2027 Conference alongside our dedicated and talented team of over 100 Chairs, Secretariat, and Staff. I am incredibly excited to welcome you to our 8th annual VRMUN conference at Granada Hills Charter High School. This year, our conference will feature an expanded committee lineup for you to engage in: six General Assembly Bodies, three Specialized Bodies, and three Crisis Bodies!
The first ever VRMUN in 2018 was created to provide San Fernando Valley and LA County students from middle and high school with stimulating opportunities to get involved in Model United Nations. Our conference prides itself on being accessible, inclusive, and all encompassing of the MUN experience. In the current climate of unprecedented attacks on all forms of education, we hope to intellectually challenge and invigorate novice delegates, seasoned competitors, and everyone in between with our variety of topics and committee procedures. I personally got involved with VRMUN first by chairing a SOCHUM committee on Journalistic Freedom. Seeing all the delegates expressing their diplomacy and creativity motivated me to become Chief of Staff for the next year’s VRMUN conference, managing background guides, chair training, and more. And now I, alongside the rest of our team, hope to make VRMUN 2027 the most unforgettable conference yet as Secretary-General. I hope you will thoughtfully consider the situations raised by your committees, such as protecting the rights and safety of child performers, restructuring the NBA, navigating the vast mythos of Ninjago, and more. It’s time to make your mark in VRMUN history and become the best delegate you can. Good luck everyone, I can’t wait to see how VRMUN 2027 will unfold!
P.S. Jay is the best Ninja, no question.
Best,
