Improving Nuclear Security in the 21st Century

As nations across the world turn to nuclear energy as an alternative to fossil fuels, the more important it becomes to protect nuclear reactors and materials. In the wake of the Fukushima and Chernobyl accidents, the entire world has seen just how deadly nuclear materials can be when they are out of control. In the 21st century, unique threats to nuclear security have risen such as cyberattacks, "dirty bombs", and direct attacks on nuclear reactors. In this committee we will discuss how to best protect against these threats as well as responding to ongoing nuclear security crises.
